Presidential Debate 2012 Questions 

Foreign Policy

Hello Viewers at home people here in the audience and those watching on-line, welcome

to the Final Debate of the Presidential Election on

Foreign Policy.

Now the audience here have agreed to hold back their applause and noise through out the debate so that viewers at home and on-line can fully focus on the respondents answers

However let them applause as we welcome the candidates

President Barack Obama 

and

Governor Mitt Romney

[pause for applause]

Gentlemen thank you for being here, 

now there are 6 segments throughout the night 

at the start of each segment i will ask a question,

each respondent is then given 2 minutes to answer 

each and then a further 1 minute of rebuttal after.

Now the questions are a mix of my own, and also pulled from on-line sources such as 

Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Google+, 

there are also some questions from the audience.

Neither party has seen the questions before hand.

Ok lets begin

Question 1

Its March 2013, and you're the President and at home at the White House, 

its 2:37 am 

(not quite the 3 AM phone Call Time, but close enough), 

its one of your top level intelligence advisor's 

informing you that Iran has just succeeded in producing 

Nuclear Capabilities.

Within 30 seconds the phone rings again

and a CIA White House Liaison officer is on the phone 

informing you that Bosnia and Serbia have started an all out war, again.

17 Seconds after you put the phone down, you are informed by the NSA Advisor that Russia has mobilised its Army and is now heading into Germany.

5 Seconds after that you get a Call from the German Chancellor, requesting help from the imminent invasion force from Russia

Once you put the phone down to the Chancellor, the FBI Director barges through the Oval Office door informing you that there is currently 24 different Homegrown Attacks of the American Government in the last 30 minutes.

The Phone rings again, and you discover that North Korea has started to invade South Korea and there is all out war on the Peninsula.

7 Seconds later, the National Intelligence Director is in the Oval Office, confirming all these reports are true and also stating China and Japan are both have their Fleets in the South China Seas and are preparing to battle,  Taiwan and Tibet have seized on this opportunity to Declare Independence from Mainland China

22 seconds after you are told this information a Secret Embassy Cable is received stating that

in Europe, Spain, England,France, Norway, Denmark, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Italy and Sweden, all rally to the aid of Germany against the invading forces of Russia

17 seconds after reading the Cable, the DEA is on the ViewScreen in the Situation Room, informing you that 7 of the Drug Cartels in Mexico have also seized on this opportunity to try to overthrow the Mexican Government,

5 Seconds after that, a State Department Liaison officer is on the screen informing you that there are widespread riots and chaos all throughout South America, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Bogotá, Colombia, Nicaragua .

Having been informed of all these events at 2:37 in the morning, 

what is your First course of Action?

Now we had a coin toss before and Governor Romney you won and elected to go first so 

what is your Answer?

Question 2

The G20, the TPP, NATO UN Meetings, G8, Pacific Rim Summits, there are many times the President needs to travel around and go to summits and meetings to foster and build relationships with neighbours and also allies.  

With so many meetings scheduled each year, 

and the cost associated with travelling to these events, 

would it not be better if some of these events are held “Online” via Teleconferences,

therefore saving taxpayers money from the cost of the President having to travel, 

What are you thoughts on the idea?

Question 3

Its the summer of 2013 and after an slow Winter Season 

the fighting in Afghanistan has slowed considerably, 

however there is still strong use of Drones in the area 

to gather intelligence and complete Operational Missions.  

During a routine Surveillance Mission a Drone is shot down by the Taliban 

over the Pakistani Border and lands in their country, 

at the same time Predator Drone is also shot down over Iran 

and lands in their country.

You now have two Proprietary Knowledge American Weapons 

in the hands of Foreign Entities.

In 30 minutes both countries Armies will be at the crash sites 

and be able to collect data and information about the weapon, 

Do you give the order to activate the “Self destruct” capability on the Drones or do you trust that Diplomacy will work and the countries will hand back the equipment?

Question 4

Its September 2015, 

Troops have been withdrawn from Afghanistan and Iraq, 

the National Forces have taken over the safety and security of their nations.  

The European Union Economy has picked back up 

and has shown 

8 consecutive Quarters of Gross National Production Growth,  

China’s Economy has levelled out 

and while still growing at a healthy rate 

just not with the speed that has been seen over the last decade.  

Other nations like India, Brazil, and Russia 

are also showing increased production and economic growth.  

The Asia Region is still growing fast 

and many nations are growing at a rapid rate 

and competing more on the global market.  

What are the things as President and as a nation we should be doing now, to position ourselves to best compete in this Global Economic Market?  

Mr President would you care to respond?

Question 5

There has been much controversy about the trial of Terrorists

in down town New York, 

would you advocate for the creation of a 

51st State of America, 

that was in the middle of nowhere, 

where a Court and Execution Facility could be made, 

so that in the Future any Terrorist being tried  of a Crime 

against America 

would have the whole process televised live 

across the Globe including their punishment? 

As the Facility would be in the middle of nowhere there is no danger to any American Citizens of the Courtroom being targeted by other Terrorists.

Governor Romney your turn to go first.

Would you agree the inclusion of such a State into the Union?

Question 6

We would like to end the evening 

talking about the recent attacks on the Libya US Embassy 

and the murder of US Ambassador Chris Stevens 

and three other Embassy workers. 

Many have criticized the Administration 

for the way they handled the response to these attacks.  

Some blame the Intelligence community 

others the lack of preparedness of the Embassy.  

After getting all the facts on the event, 

what would you change or do different in the future so events like this could possible avoided, and what message do you have for those out there that continue to take the lives of  innocent Americans?
